SLOPES AND ELEVATIONS

Baras’ terrain can be classified into five basic types. Moderately sloping to rolling terrain constitutes 39.7% of the municipality or 3,372 of its land area. Gently sloping characterizes 23.89% of Baras or 2,289 has. About 22.18% or 1,884 has is gently sloping to undulating while another 13.25% or 1125 has. can be described as rolling to hilly terrain. Steep hills and mountains rise in about 0.98% of the municipality or 83 has.     

With these varied features, Baras’ terrain roll from lakeside plains to green valleys and rolling hills, and up steep mountains.     

The upland parts adjacent to the Sierra Madre mountain range, with elevations from 800 to 900 ft. above sea level, are the high points of the municipality. Elevations below 100 meters are found in the lakeshore area and along the stretch of the Manila East Road.
